So, as a frustrated old school teacher, constantly being told to use ICT as a learning tool, I decided to start a personal blog – not the best move as a school teacher, but anyone who knows me knows that I’m not renowned for my good decisions. But my intentions are almost always pure.
I have just started a new job in a Catholic school. I was raised Catholic, so it doesn’t offend my personal taste. I have just agreed to teach religious education. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m not renowned for my good decisions. But I try. Philosophy is an amazing tool with which to exercise your mind. Teaching religious education has not been entirely unchallenging thus far. It is only two weeks in! But I have already been questioned about original sin by a 14 year old and another boy told me he’d clear up something I couldn’t clarify for him in the bible with the priest at bible class on Sunday. Hmmmm.
Contemporary art. Reference Joe. Thanks Joe. The imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. I love this film. I think it proves that I really am a Catholic having an existential crisis. The ultimate decisions between right and wrong are personified in the epic battle of the wills between good and evil, God and devil, Dr Parnassus and Mr. Nic. It’s an amazing, adventurous film, but no one else seems to enjoy it. Hmmmm.
